Naming Ceremonies

A baby or child Naming Day Ceremony is a non religious personal ceremony to welcome your child to the wider community of your family and friends.

Many parents choose to have Naming Day Ceremonies as a more personalised ceremony, rather than religious Christenings or Baptisms.

Traditionally, Godparents are appointed, however nowadays they can be Guardian Parents, Sponsors or Mentors for the child.

Special readings can be included and often a ritual such as the Candle Lighting or Words of Wisdom provided by your guests, can also be added into the ceremony.

These ceremonies are usually held at a family member’s home, in a hall or often in a park or reserve.

Some choose to have more formal celebrations at function centres…it is your choice.

Most ceremonies go for approximately 20-30 minutes depending on what you include.

A certificate is presented for the child and certificates can also be presented to the godparents, guardian parents or mentors and even the grandparents. This is up to you.

If other siblings are involved, certificates can also be presented to them.

There is an additional cost if more than 4 certificates are required.

A non refundable booking deposit is required when you book my services so that I can hold the date for your special day and commence the paperwork.

Extra charges apply for travel outside an 80km return journey, onboard boats, accommodation if required and if more than 30 minutes late start due to late arrival of family.
